The barn sits in its own 2.5 acre field – you have access to the field, as it’s perfect for wide-games, small pup tents and or orienteering etc. However, it is stocked with sheep for most of the year – so dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
In front of the barn, there’s a temporary seating and bbq area – the bbq is situated in the entrance hall, along with the seating benches. These must be brought back inside at the end of your stay, or during poor weather.
Getting to the barn
It is not possible to approach the barn by vehicle – part of the barn’s charm is its rurally isolated location, and the peaceful setting. Please leave vehicles in Bainbridge or Askrigg, try to car share and just leave one car per group at Marsett.
The track to the barn is often in a poor condition, and gets washed out regularly by bad weather. This is also a delightful characteristic of the barn, and making your way along this track (whether from the Stalling Busk side or the Marsett side) is part of the adventure!
